Have no fear, Thursday football is going nowhere.
While there is no AFL on this Thursday night, Fox Footy will broadcast the VFL clash between Footscray and the GWS Giants from 7pm.
The 24-hour football channel will show every Thursday night VFL clash this season, as well as every final.
And in a major boost, Kayo will also produce a minimum of two additional matches per round which will be streamed live and free on Kayo Freebies.
Fox Footy analyst and former St Kilda great Leigh Montagna described it was a great win for the fans.
“I think there are a lot of fans disappointed there’s not Thursday night AFL every week,” Montagna said.

“We got used to it last week through the lockdown and through the start of this year, so I think everyone craves Thursday night football.
“Until we get it permanently on an AFL basis, I think it’s great to have some sort of representation every Thursday night and the next best thing is the VFL.”
Former Western Bulldogs great Brad Johnson said it was important fans were able to keep an eye on their club’s up and comers.
“We’ve got some of the best drafted kids still running around in the VFL trying to find their way as well, so I think there are so many good stories that will come out of what we see every Thursday night,” Johnson said.
News Corp Australia is also on the hunt for Australia’s best grassroots Aussie rules football jumpers.

Johnson said he was still proud of his jumper from when he played for the Hoppers’ Crossing Cats, which is now known as the Warriors.
“My jumper is still an old woollen one and it was good to dust it off,” he said.
“I played under 13s, 14s and 15s for Hoppers Crossing and absolutely loved my time there.
“It was my first short sleeved jumper, so when you got your first short sleever you were pretty excited about it.
“I cherished it and I’ve kept every single jumper that I’ve ever played in, so it was good to get the jumper back out.”
