Former Brisbane, Carlton and Collingwood ruckman Cameron Wood wins on The Chase Australia
A FORMER journeyman AFL ruckman popped up on a popular quiz show on Monday — and ended up taking home the cash.

Don't miss out on the headlines from AFL. Followed categories will be added to My News.
IT was a simple enough start to an episode of game show The Chase Australia, as the contestants introduced themselves.
“Hi, I’m Cameron, I’m studying to be a teacher,” one began.
“After playing 11 years in the AFL.”
Suddenly his remarkable height made more sense. It was ex-Brisbane, Collingwood and Carlton ruckman Cameron Wood, of course.
The journeyman — who retired at the end of the 2016 season — made an appearance on the quiz show on Monday afternoon and, contrary to what some would expect from a footy player, was successful.

After pointing out that he was still playing local footy for Avondale Heights, Wood took on quizmaster Andrew O’Keefe and performed solidly, earning $10,000 for his team.
He then flirted with ‘The Governess’ — suggesting he could take her to an AFL match — before successfully making his way through into the final round.
“A little bit of guessing going on there,” The Governess suggested.
In the end, Wood wasn’t best on ground, but was a solid contributor as his three-man team won $38,000 — money he said he’ll spend on taking his mum on a cruise up the Alaskan coast.
Not bad for an afternoon’s work.
