IT WAS the inharmonious split that left many Melbourne fans grumpy. None were more angry than this disgruntled Dees supporter who unleashed on radio.

THIS was the radio talkback caller that perfectly summed up the frustration of many Melbourne fans.
After an inharmonious split, the Demons traded favourite son Jack Watts to Port Adelaide in exchange for Pick 31 during last week’s AFL exchange period.
The move left many Dees supporters, including club great David Schwarz, with a bitter taste and disappointed with how the club handled Watts’ exit.
But arguably no Melbourne fan was grumpier than ‘Hilary’ from Croydon, who on Monday called up Francis Leach’s Afternoons program on SEN 1116 to voice her displeasure.
Hilary said she had been a Demons member for 66 years — “I saw all the premierships in the ‘50s” — but added that she was strongly considering not renewing her membership.
“I’m absolutely filthy about Jack Watts. People forget the first five or six years he was there that club was s--- … sorry, they were a rabble,” Hilary told SEN.
“He’s the best kick for goal nearly in the whole league, he is.”
Asked whether she rang the club to explain her anger, Hilary said “I bloody well did”.
“(The Melbourne staffer) was really rude. I said you could stick your membership,” Hilary said before being cut off.
“I’m still filthy about Jack Watts. I cried my eyes out, I’m still so upset, I’m absolutely filthy.
“Even (Kevin) Bartlett said everything that goes wrong at that club they blame Jack Watts — everything.”
But Hilary wasn’t done there, turning her attention to the deal the Demons struck to acquire Adelaide young gun Jake Lever.
Lever, along with Pick 35 and a future third-round selection, was traded to Melbourne — but at a hefty price, with Adelaide receiving two first-round picks and a future-fourth rounder in return.
After striking the deal, Melbourne football boss Josh Mahoney said acquiring Lever was a “great outcome for us”.
But Hilary thought otherwise, describing the deal as “bloody ridiculous”.
“As for getting Lever and for getting two first-round picks and another pick, when Scott Thompson went from Melbourne over to (Adelaide) after three years when he was 21, we got one first-round pick for him, Melbourne,” Hilary said.
“I’ve got my member thing here to fill out and send back and I don’t know if I’m going to.”
