IT’S her partner, Taylor Walker, who is hoping to lead the Adelaide Crows to victory at this weekend’s AFL Grand Final, but Ellie Brown is preparing to dazzle for Monday night’s Brownlow Medal.
“It’s really just a great night out with your partner and it’s great to celebrate what is going to be an exciting week ahead,” she said.
“There’s weeks of preparation that goes into it all — you’ve got to find the right dress, the right jewels, the right shoes, the right bag — but it’s really just about having fun,”
Ms Brown attended the Brownlow Medal for the first time last year on the arm of Walker. While the team won’t be in Melbourne for the big night, they will be watching from Adelaide Oval and will cross to the event during tonight’s broadcast.
“We’re just looking forward to a nice dinner and catch up with everyone there before an early night,” she said.
Ms Brown, who works as an interior designer and has done her fair share of modelling appearances, including as the face of the Adelaide Cup earlier this year, will be frocked by Melbourne-based designer Cassandra Renee and is being blinged by South Australian Jeweller Cassandra Mamone.
The local jeweller has become a red-carpet favourite with Carrie Bickmore, Jesinta Campbell, Kylie Gilles, Sam Armytage, and on the Emmy’s red carpet by Aussie model Laura Heath.
“We actually met through Instagram recently, she’s an Adelaide designer and I love to support local businesses,” said Ms Brown of Ms Mamone.
As for the rest of the week, Saturday’s big match looms.
“We’re just going to have a quiet week ahead. We’ll have fun tonight and then try to relax for the rest of the week,” she said.
“But of course it’s exciting, I think it’s really a great time for the city and to see it all come alive as well.”
