FORMER St Kilda forward Ahmed Saad will earn another chance at AFL football after being selected by his former club in today’s AFL rookie draft.

Carlton, Collingwood and the Saints were believed to have discussed reviving Saad’s AFL career heading into Wednesday morning’s rookie draft, but it was the Saints who swooped first, selecting the small forward with pick 19.

GWS did not use one selection in the rookie or pre-season draft, having finalised their playing list and therefore passing on all their selections at Wednesday’s draft meeting.

Earlier, Carlton was the only club to use a pick in the pre-season draft.

As expected, the Blues selected speedster Jason Tutt with pick No.2, with every other club passing on their selections.
