The Gold Coast Suns Academy production line is poised to churn out two more stars next year, who both shone brightly in the annual under-17 Futures game.
Damien Hardwick’s Suns will have priority access to Beau Addinsall and Zeke Uwland in the 2025 national draft as the club continues to build a list chock-full of talent.
Midfielder Addinsall was everywhere for Team Sloane in the AFL Grand Final curtain-raiser at the MCG on Saturday, gathering a game-high 34 disposals to win his side’s best-on-ground medal.
The 17-year-old’s ability to spread from stoppage and find space was unrivalled, while he was also tough around the contest.
Addinsall got involved in numerous possession chains for Team Sloane, logging 19 handball receives in what was a free-flowing match.
Teammate Uwland – the younger brother of Gold Coast defender Bohdi – also had some nice moments, including a 60m goal on his booming left-foot during the opening quarter.
Uwland finished with 22 disposals, seven marks and two goals playing a half-forward role.
Team Heppell won the game by seven points after kicking five goals in the final term, with Geelong Falcons defender Josh Lindsay receiving the best-on-ground medal for the winners.
Lindsay collected 20 disposals and seven marks, while big-bodied Eastern Ranges midfielder Oliver Greeves (31 disposals) also caught the eye with his work in the thick of the action.
West Coast father-son prospect Charlie Banfield – the son of two-time Eagles premiership player Drew – kicked three goals from 14 disposals and six marks in attack for Team Heppell.
Collingwood father-son Thomas McGuane had a quieter game for the winners, spending time across both half-forward and half-back and gathering six disposals and four marks.

TEAM HEPPELL
JOSH LINDSAY
20 disposals, 7 marks, 2 inside-50s, 3 rebound-50s
A rebounding defender from the Geelong Falcons, Lindsay won the best-on-ground medal for Team Heppell. He provided some good run and rebound from half-back, with his kicking a feature of his game. Of his 20 disposals, 18 were kicks – the most of any player on the ground.
OLIVER GREEVES
31 disposals, 7 marks, 3 clearances, 5 inside-50s, 3 rebound-50s
A big-bodied midfielder from the Eastern Ranges who measures 191cm, Greeves was the leading disposal-winner for his side. He worked hard and got to where the footy was, with his clean hands around the contest also a feature.
DANIEL ANNABLE
27 disposals, 5 marks, 2 clearances, 5 inside-50s
A Brisbane Lions Academy member who shapes as a top prospect for next year, Annable worked hard and found space. He spent time through the midfield and across half-forward.
TOM BURTON
26 disposals, 4 marks, 4 rebound 50s, 1 clearance
The Western Jets midfielder finished as one of his side’s best players, showing some good contest work, providing some run and using the footy well.
WILLEM DUURSMA
20 disposals, 8 marks, 3 inside-50s, 3 rebound-50s
The younger brother of Essendon midfielder Xavier, Carlton AFLW defender Yasmin and North Melbourne forward Zane was thrown around a few positions and showed his versatility. He started down back and took a couple of intercept marks, along with pushing up the ground to get involved in the play. In the last quarter he went on ball and won three clearances.
LACHLAN CARMICHAEL
18 disposals, 8 marks, 5 rebound-50s
A Sydney Swans Academy member, Carmichael spent the day in defence. He provided some good rebound and used the ball well. He was particularly prolific early, gathering eight disposals in the opening quarter.
CODY CURTIN
18 disposals, 6 marks, 2 rebound-50s
A 197cm key defender from Western Australia, Curtin is the younger brother of Adelaide young gun Daniel, who was the No.8 draft pick in 2023. He was solid down back throughout the game and won a lot of the footy for a player of his size.
CHARLIE BANFIELD
14 disposals, 6 marks, 3 goals
A father-son prospect for West Coast as the son of two-time Eagles premiership player Drew, the 188cm forward showed some great signs. He kicked three goals during a big second half, which also included a nice contested mark in the fourth quarter.
THOMAS McGUANE
6 disposals, 4 marks, 2 inside-50s
A father-son prospect for Collingwood as the son of 1990 premiership player Mick, it wasn’t a huge day out for McGuane to end an impressive bottom-age season. A week after playing in a senior premiership for Keilor, the Western Jets product managed only six touches spending time across half-forward and half-back.

BEAU ADDINSALL
34 disposals, 5 marks, 5 inside-50s, 2 clearances
Wherever the footy was, the Gold Coast Suns Academy member wasn’t far away. The midfielder gathered a game-high 34 disposals to win his side’s best-on-ground medal, with his ability to spread from stoppage and find space unrivalled. He was also tough around the contest and got involved in plenty of possession chains through his 19 handball receives in a free-flowing contest.
ZEKE UWLAND
22 disposals, 7 marks, 7 inside-50s, 2 goals
Another top Gold Coast Suns Academy prospect, Uwland is the younger brother of current Suns player Bodhi. The midfielder spent the game playing a half-forward role and had some big moments, including a huge left-foot goal from 60m in the opening quarter. While he also made a few mistakes, he works hard and laid four tackles, while that left foot is a genuine weapon.
JACK DALTON
21 disposals, 4 marks, 4 inside-50s, 1 goal
A midfielder from the Sandringham Dragons, Dalton produced another good performance a week after winning a Coates Talent League premiership. He found plenty of the footy across half-forward and snapped a lovely goal on the run in the opening quarter, but missed a couple of other opportunities in front of the big sticks.
RILEY ONLEY
20 disposals, 7 marks, 3 inside-50s, 2 clearances, 1 goal
One of the better players for his side, the Murray Bushrangers midfielder is certainly one to watch for next year. He found a lot of the footy and kicked a goal on the run in the third quarter.
DYSON SHARP
17 disposals, 5 marks, 4 clearances, 4 inside-50s
The top prospect from South Australia in 2025, the inside midfielder showed some good signs. He thrives on the contest and had more contested possessions (10) than anyone else on the ground. Some of his clearance work was also impressive.
COOPER DUFF-TYTLER
13 disposals, 3 marks, 10 hitouts, 4 inside-50s
A 200cm ruckman, Duff-Tytler moves and finds the footy like a midfielder, which is why he’s being referred to as a ‘Unicorn’ at the Calder Cannons. He led the way in the ruck, showed incredible athleticism with his work around the ground and has a good leap. He also took a nice contested mark in the second quarter. An exciting prospect indeed.
LIAM HETHERTON
10 disposals, 8 marks, 2 inside-50s, 3 goals
A 195cm key forward from the Murray Bushrangers, Hetherton finished as the equal-leading goalkicker on the ground with three majors. He presented well and took some nice marks, including one contested.
KALANI WHITE
7 disposals, 5 marks, 2 rebound 50s
A father-son prospect for Melbourne as the son of former Demons ruckman Jeff, White featured as a key defender for his side. It wasn’t a huge day for him but he showed some good signs, including a good contested mark early. Measuring 198cm, White is also part of the Gold Coast Suns Academy.
