WHEN David Zaharakis received his Brownlow invite it was an easy choice who to take.

He doesn't have a girlfriend so why not ask the person who had supported him most?

"I asked my Dad (John) and he couldn't wipe the smile off his face," the Essendon star said.

"He's been there for all of my footy and since I was five he's helped me at Auskick and he loves his footy."

Zaharakis and teammate Michael Hurley were fitted out in their suits at Soho on Chapel St yesterday. The other Bombers attending -- Hurley, Jobe Watson, Dyson Heppell and Paddy Ryder -- all have partners.

"It's my first time going, so it's pretty exciting," Zaharakis said.

"I've watched it since I was a little kid and am looking forward to experiencing being there. I think Adam Goodes or Chris Judd will win."
