MELBOURNE brides are hot on the trail of the now famous frocks from Monday night's Brownlow blue carpet.
Nadia Coppolino's Brownlow dress designer Julie Simonelli said women already were asking for replicas of Coppolino's gown for their weddings.
"I've had calls already - girls wanting a dress in Nadia's style for bridal and for evening," she said from her Fairfield studio yesterday.
Coppolino, partner of Geelong's Jimmy Bartel, wore an emerald green strapless gown which took more than 50 hours of hand sewing to create.
"It definitely kept us up at night, but it's a work of art," Simonelli said.
The dress worn by Brownlow Medal winner Dane Swan's partner, Taylor Wilson, also sparked a lot of interest.
Designer Helen Manuell said she fielded requests yesterday for wedding creations based on the Galliano-esque corset dress which featured in several TV close-ups during the telecast.
"The girls see these women on the blue carpet and they are setting trends, they are fashion forward, and people want to mimic that for their wedding or special event," she said.
"Women like the sculpted, sexy look of Nadia's gown.
"It takes many fittings to get it right. Girls want to be comfortable on their big day."
Brides-to-be who want to copy the Coppolino look face a hefty price tag of about $8500, Simonelli said.
