A stacked Sandringham Dragons will face off with the Eastern Ranges in the Coates Talent League grand final after the two teams won through their preliminary finals on Sunday.
The Dragons took down Geelong Falcons by 34 points, after the Ranges toppled minor premier Tasmania Devils by 40 points.
The Dragons were well led by a host of AFL draft prospects for both this year and next year.
Levi Ashcroft — a father-son prospect for Brisbane Lions in 2024 — gathered 24 disposals, nine score involvements and kicked three goals from the midfield.
Ruckman Vigo Visentini — the younger brother of Port Adelaide’s Dante — was strong in the ruck with 20 disposals, 25 hit-outs, seven marks and seven score involvements, while rebounding defender Archie Roberts (25 disposals, five marks) was also among the Dragons’ best.
Midfielder Christian Moraes was a standout for the Eastern Ranges in their win, gathering 28 disposals, 13 score involvements, five clearances and two goals.
Key forward Riley Weatherill (four goals) and key defender Cooper Trembath (nine disposals, six marks, five spoils) also impressed for the Ranges.
The Coates Talent League boys grand final will be played at Carlton’s Ikon Park on Sunday.
