BRENDAN Fevola is settling into his luxury Gold Coast getaway, taking an early morning joy ride before enjoying breakfast with his family on a balcony overlooking the water.

Fevola has opted to skip this year's Las Vegas footy trip with teammates and will instead live the Queensland quiet life with his pregnant wife Alex and their two young children.

Looking relaxed in a white single and shorts, Fevola ventured out of a $3m villa early to do a little exploring on a scooter with his daughter on the back, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports.

Later in the morning he joined pregnant wife Alex and their two young children for an alfresco breakfast overlooking the water.

The waterfront mansion, which was recommended by Shane Warne who stayed there with his kids and ex-wife Simone in 2008, is touted as being "ideal for movie stars, heads of state and people who love life".

It features four king-sized bedrooms, three bathrooms, a state-of-the-art home theatre, designer kitchen decked out with all appliances, a stunning pool with security gating and a private jetty.

The villa is set on one of the six islands that make up the 5-star Sovereign Islands, located between the mainland and South Stradbroke Island.

Access to the secured private island community is via a bridge from Paradise Point, on the northern Gold Coast.

The $3 million villa is owned by Warne's millionaire mate and Perth businessman Kym Illman.

Mr Illman rents out four Gold Coast properties, each with their own private jetty and waterfront pool.

But while the Warnes lodged free, Fevola can expect to part with about $15,000 for his lengthy stay.

Speculation mounted yesterday that the wayward forward would be moved on by Carlton during AFL trade week starting on Monday.

Sydney has emerged as the early suitor with room in its salary cap to handle his $750,000-a-season contract.

Fevola, 28, has gone to ground since his Brownlow night of shame where he was seen vomiting, swearing, spilling beer and simulating sex acts.

It is believed at least one of Carlton's major sponsors has since expressed concerns over his alcohol-fuelled behaviour.

The Herald Sun has also learned Fevola was thrown out of Crown casino on two occasions before his Brownlow binge.

He was ejected by security for smoking at a casino nightclub and also became a problem at a wedding reception in February.

Police and liquor licensing chiefs are continuing to investigate Crown's handling of Fevola's antics.

"I can confirm that, with the Director of Liquor Licensing, we are looking at the issue around the service of alcohol on Brownlow night to Brendan Fevola," Police Chief Commissioner Simon Overland said yesterday.
