He may have a sore finger but it hasn’t stopped Lance Franklin from continuing to celebrate his 1000th goal.
The Sydney Swans superstar was back at the scene of his historic kick at the SCG and brought along a few special friends along for the ride.
The AFL has handed out 1000 free NAB AFL Auskick registrations to celebrate Buddy’s heroics with the champion forward heartened that there has been a spike in participants in 2022 - particularly among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island kids with a 12 per cent increase.

“It is so important whether you are indigenous or non-indigenous, just being active and being outdoors and staying healthy is really important,” Franklin said.
“Auskick provides that for all the kids in Australia and my main message is, like it was for me as a kid, was to just have fun, that’s the most important thing.”
