On Saturday Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley ended speculation Harvey could play on at the Magpies.
The 432-game Shinboner is said to be battling with the idea of wearing another club’s colours.
“I think it was always going to be a hard decision for him to pull another jumper on, that’s honestly what he battles with — can I see myself putting another club’s jumper on?,” Harvey’s long-time manager Shane Casley said.
“It was always going to be a long shot. There is no pressure on him, there’s no clubs beating down the door for a decision, he doesn’t need to make a decision.”
Harvey is expected to attend North Melbourne’s best-and-fairest dinner on Friday night.
Casley said Harvey would declare his intentions when he’s ready.
“We haven’t put ourselves out there, Boomer still hasn’t made up his mind what he wants to do,” Casley told AFL Trade Radio.
“We spoke as late as Friday and one day he has a beer with his brother and thinks it’d be great playing footy with him and then the next day thinks ‘I know I can play AFL footy’ so that’s the decision that he’s still battling with.”
“We haven’t said we’re going on so the clubs aren’t ringing me and I’m not ringing them.
“We’ve met with no club and we’ve had no offers from clubs, there’s been some dialogue but that’s about all there is.
“He hasn’t come out and said to the football world what he wants to do.”
Harvey’s brother Shane, who played 14 AFL games for Essendon and North Melbourne, is a star goalkicker for North Heidelberg in the Northern Football League.
Casley also manager released North Melbourne spearhead Drew Petrie who has been linked to West Coast but has yet to be given any guarantees.
