RICHMOND’S aggressive list overhaul is finally under way on a day where Dion Prestia’s recruitment was offset by the certain departure of three prized first-round selections.

Gold Coast midfielder Prestia confirmed he would move to Richmond next year to bolster the club’s midfield in a deal likely to be secured by the Tigers No.6 selection.

The Suns are desperate for midfield replacements but could easily use that No.6 selection to secure one of the on-ballers sure to emerge in the next two months of trade talks.

They made it clear on Wednesday they were in no hurry to broker a deal for 23-year-old Prestia, whose wayward kicking is one of the few flaws for the tough clearance machine.

The Tigers have no second-round pick after the Chris Yarran trade so their initial selection will be pick 42 but believe by the time GWS and Gold Coast academy picks are taken pick 6 will push back to nine or 10.

Richmond has often boasted about nailing its first-round selections in the past decade but yesterday it was made clear Reece Conca, Ben Lennon and Tyrone Vickery were out the door.

The Tigers also officially delisted forward Liam McBean after five seasons as well as elevated rookie Adam Marcon yesterday.

Lennon’s manager Anthony McConville confirmed to the Herald Sun the 21-year-old had asked for a trade, while it was made clear to Conca he was surplus to requirements.

Conca was taken at pick 6 in the 2010 national draft, Vickery at pick 8 in the 2008 national draft and Lennon pick 12 in the 2013 national draft.

McConville also manages star flanker Brett Deledio and said the 29-year-old was desperate to stay at Richmond.

“(Lennon) wants a fresh start. He has spoken to Damien today and he rang me earlier to let me know about the discussion,’’ McConville said.

“We will have those conversations with other clubs about what is available.

“At this point in time we all know (Deledio) is contracted and wants to stay, so we will leave Brett to have those discussions with them.”

Prestia’s manager Marty Pask is hopeful a deal can quickly be done when the trade period commences on Monday October 10.

“Dion has had a desire to return to Victoria and play his football in Melbourne surrounded by friends and family,’’ Pask said.

“If you look at Richmond’s core group of players and their ages, it was appealing for Dion to join a group of strong footballers in the right hit zone in terms of their age.

Pask said Prestia would be ready for day one of the pre-season after a knee clean-out ended his season early.

The hard-running midfielder was second in Suns club’s best-and-fairest in 2013 and third in the 2014 season.
