JONATHAN Brown says he turned down the chance to compete in the upcoming season of Australian Survivor, but another triple-premiership AFL star is a definite starter.

HAS Jonathan Brown let the cat out of the bag?

The former Brisbane Lions star appeared to confirm on radio this morning that triple-premiership Hawthorn defender Brian Lake is one of the contestants on Australian Survivor.

The revelation comes amidst reports that AFLW forward Mo Hope is set for the Channel 10 reality show, which is being shot in Fiji with filming believed to be taking place now.

On NOVA’s Chrissie, Sam and Brownie breakfast show this morning, Brown said that he had been approached by Ten to be one of the champion contestants but had knocked back the offer.

Brown then confirmed that Lake, who had been linked to the show, was a definite starter.

Australian Survivor will this year carry a “Champions v Contenders” theme, and Lake and Hope are rumoured to be among the “champions of public life” who pit themselves against “everyday Aussies”.

In recent times, Lake has worked for Fox Footy as a boundary rider and on The Beep Test alongside comedians Dave Thornton and Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehman, having retired at the end of 2015.

Hope has been unusually quiet on her Instagram account and has posted just three photos recently, all of which appear historical.

A video posted on Monday of her supposedly at work did not show her face, rather just a computer screen.

Hope, the inaugural Collingwood marquee, is expected to join new AFLW club North Melbourne for next season, but she has yet to sign a contract and is believed to be out of the country.

While Hope’s AFLW career has been somewhat underwhelming to date, she has been a hit off the field.

She wrote an autobiography and has won sponsorship and ambassador deals with companies including Myer, Holden, Special K and Nike.

Hope has also been a smash on the social scene, alongside her girlfriend, model Isabella Carlstrom, with the pair attending the races and a host of other events.

Her manager James Pitcher told the Herald Sun on the eve of AFLW01 Hope was one of his most in-demand clients.

“The amount of interest in Mo has been staggering,” Pitcher said.

“From current sponsors who look after the boys … I’ve been blown away. She’s probably more popular at the moment than some of the guys.”

Ahead of the women’s season in March, she transformed her body in a bid to reboot her career, losing about 8kg.

While dropped earlier in the season, she fought back and kicked eight goals in six games.

Auditions for Survivor series three were held in February. The show was expected to be filmed over April and May.

US site Inside Survivor has reported serial American Survivor contestant Russell Hantz is expected to feature in the next Australian series.

Hantz first appeared on the American series in 2009 and is regarded as a villain.

The Herald Sun contacted Channel 10 and a spokesman said: “TEN will neither confirm nor deny speculation about the identity of Australian Survivor Champions v Contenders contestants and we look forward to revealing our extraordinary cast in the coming months.”
