REIGNING premier Adelaide has re-signed two of its stars for the second AFL Women’s season.

Co-skipper Chelsea Randall and power forward Sarah Perkins — both All-Australian players in the competition’s inaugural season — have committed for 2018.

“I’ve loved this club since I walked in the door,” Randall said.

“Adelaide is like home to me now. It was such an honour to, alongside Erin Phillips, lead the club and an amazing group of women to the first-ever AFLW premiership.

“We have a really strong culture. We’re already looking forward to 2018 and building on the success of this year.”

Victorian Perkins proved a revelation for the Crows after she was initially passed over in the Victorian draft before she was signed by Adelaide as a free agent.

She finished second in the competition’s goalkicking and developed a cult hero status that spread far beyond her workplace at Reece Plumbing.

“Things have worked out better than I could have imagined at Adelaide and I’m thrilled to re-sign with the club,” Perkins said.

“I’m really happy that I moved, I’ve found my passion for football again and I can’t wait for the second season of the AFLW.”

The Crows are also confident of landing competition best and fairest Erin Phillips’ signature for another season within days.

AFLW clubs are allowed to re-contract 22 of their 27 players from season one until next Friday and the Crows are in talks with Phillips.

The Olympic basketballer is expected to choose football over the WNBL after recently retiring from the WNBA.

Randall, who co-captained Adelaide alongside Phillips in the premiership season, said she was confident Phillips would re-sign.

“We’re really onfident that those sort of names, Erin Phillips and that, will be signing in the coming days,” Randall said.

But Randall conceded it was likely marquee player Kellie Gibson would join Fremantle next season to be close to family and friends.
