Sydney coach John Longmire has confirmed that Swans CEO Tom Harley recently met with Essendon spearhead Joe Daniher.
The pair caught up for lunch last week while the Bombers forward was in the Harbour City to meet with his surgeon, following an operation on his persistently injured groin.
Daniher kicked 65 goals back in 2017, the same year he signed a three-year contract extension with Essendon at around $900,000 a season. But he has played just 11 games since the start of last year.

The lunch has sparked speculation Daniher could be considering a move to the Swans. He chose Essendon over Sydney as a 16-year-old in 2010 when both could have had him under the father-son rule.
Both the Bombers, according to a Nine report, and Swans have suggested the meeting was just a friendly catch-up.

“It was just a catch up with Tom Harley, who was a mentor of his in the AIS,” Longmire said.
“Joe was up here as I understand it, seeing a surgeon, so they just caught up for a coffee.
“I don’t think there’s anything to be drawn into that other than the fact they had a coffee. I think you are allowed to catch up with people from other clubs in this industry.”
Daniher will be the special guest on Fox Footy’s On the Mark this Wednesday at 8:30pm EST.
