AFL round 6 Geelong v Hawthorn: Four things we learned about our SuperCoach options on Easter Monday
All eyes were on Tom Stewart and his falling price for SuperCoaches on Monday - and we left with more questions than answers. See the big talking points.
Is Tom Stewart a must-buy? That’s what question on every SuperCoaches’’’ lips after a very middling score from a very middling performance.
He finished on 61 SuperCoach points – as low as Stewy tends to go without being injured or subbed – in a very ordinary game.
But the rookies in this game mounted the case for him – if this is as poor as Stewart can be, it was still better than Connor O’Sullivan (54) and Mitch Knevitt (39) could muster as a horror weekend for rookie scoring came to a close.
Luke Trainor (2), Zach Reid (38), Caiden Cleary (30) and Finn O’Sullivan (28) headlined some woeful rookie scores across the weekend.

IS KARL AMON AN OPTION?
We asked this before his bye, and were rewarded with two 80s, but with a mammoth 155 on Monday it’s worth asking again – if his floor is 80, and we can now see his ceiling is that high, then surely he’s an option?
Amon is the main distributor out of half back, and once Sicily moves forward he becomes the general. You’d be mad not to look at him.
TOPSY TURVY BAILEY
Bailey Smith was humming in the first term and disappeared in the second half, leaving owners who were hoping for a 120 floundering 40 points short.
No-one’s trading him out but it might be tough to see if he’ll be a keeper by season’s end – do we need to start planning to upgrade him?
IS IT JAI TIME?
Jai Newcombe has the best run for midfielders in the game over the next seven weeks, and against an undersized Geelong midfield he had his own way and walked away with a 130. At 550k, is he a better target than a top of the range Marcus Bontempelli or Zak Butters if he can match the same output over the next two months? Possibly.
