Mid-season draftee Brynn Teakle will play his first AFL game for North Melbourne after being rushed into the team to face Collingwood on Sunday.
The 24-year-old, who played six games for Port Adelaide in the past two seasons, replaced injured youngster Wil Dawson as Alastair Clarkson’s side tries to build on its confidence-boosting win over West Coast.
Teakle returned to East Fremantle after being cut by the Power and was one of the WAFL’s dominant big men in the first half of 2024.
Collingwood will also unveil a fresh face with No.37 draft pick Tew Jiath set to play his first AFL game.
Jiath, the younger brother of Hawthorn’s Changkuoth Jiath, was considered one of the bolters in last year’s draft crop.
He will be the sixth Magpie to debut this year after Lachie Sullivan, Joe Richards, Ed Allan, Wil Parker and Charlie Dean.
Jiath comes into the Collingwood side at the expense of Jack Bytel.
Meanwhile, Jack Buckley and Josh Kelly return from injury for GWS’ clash with Port Adelaide, which has also swung the changes at selection.
Charlie Dixon and Jeremy Finlayson have been dropped, while Lachie Jones (omitted) and Ryan Burton (injured) are also out.
Skipper Connor Rozee returns to the Power side, with Ollie Lord, Dylan Williams and Quinton Narkle also included.
