At the other end of the scale, Hawthorn won’t enter the draft until late - although there is some good news with their first selection moving up from 88 to 81 as the AFL settles the final picks for this year's talent event.

REPORT CARD: HOW DID YOUR CLUB TRADE?

The Hawks were involved in an incredible seven trades during the two week trade period and sent draft picks to St Kilda, Gold Coast, Sydney and Carlton.

Essendon will have its pick of the best young talent in Australia when it uses the No.1 pick for the first time in the club's history.

The Bombers resisted offers to trade the selection and now have their choice of Hugh McCluggage or Andrew McGrath.

Brisbane has been awarded a priority pick by the AFL. The Lions were given the extra selection at the end of the first round after a disastrous two years.

Brisbane holds four picks inside the top 25.

If anyone thought the Giants were going to drop off in 2017, think again. GWS secured pick two in the national draft after trading up the order with Fremantle.

As well as welcoming Brett Deledio, the Giants hold 11 picks in the top 60.
