Ultimate Brownlow Medal betting guide

THE hottest tips on the Brownlow winner, who will poll the most votes at your club and the punter who's backing Heath Grundy.

Adam Goodes
Adam Goodes

CHRIS Judd might be an odds-on favourite to win Monday night's Brownlow Medal at $1.75, but the thought of Sydney's Adam Goodes winning his third Brownlow has bookmakers struggling to get to sleep at night.

"Goodes has been a huge go after we bet as much as $67. Everybody knows how well he polls and he had a brilliant second half of the season so the punters can't get enough of him," TAB Sportsbet's Matthew Jenkins said.

The bigger bets on Goodes in the past week have included $6000 each way on him at $6, $3500 each way at $6, $4000 at $5.50 and three separate bets of $2500 each way at $5.

Goodes was at $67 in Round 18 and was reeled into $41 in Round 19, $26 (Round 20), then out to $41 in Round 22, $17 in the final round and was now $5.

EARLY MOVE ON MURPHY

CARLTON captain Chris Judd is a hot favourite to win the Brownlow Medal at $1.75 with TAB Sportsbet, but it is teammate Marc Murphy who has been the subject of a plunge.

"There has been huge money on Marc Murphy to be leading the Brownlow after 12 rounds, with punters having backed him from $4 into $1.70,'' TAB Sportsbet's Matthew Jenkins said.

"The biggest bet on Murphy is only $4500, so there are plenty of punters who have tickets with his name on it.''
There also has been a long-priced go, with West Coast's Matt Priddis backed from $151 to $41.
