A “NOYCE, diff’rent, un-ewes-ual” house has hit the market in Melbourne, and the foxy morons who snap it up will be buying a piece of Aussie television history.
The fictional family home of houseproud Kath Day-Knight and husband Kel from Kath & Kim has been listed for sale for the third time in five years.
While “Chateau Kath” may not really be located in made-up suburb Fountain Lakes, the Patterson Lakes home is still a relatively short trip from the famed Fountain Gate shopping centre in the city’s southeast.
The realestate.com.au listing for 4 Lagoon Place also fails to specify whether Kath’s pilates equipment or treasured plasma TV come with the house.
But it does detail four bedrooms, including a “light-filled, spacious” master, two “superb” living areas and an open-plan kitchen and living area which opens on to an entertainer’s patio “right on the water”.
The double-storey, four-bedroom house backs on to a canal and also boasts its own private jetty — a feature that was hidden while the hit TV show’s four seasons were filmed there.
Selling agency Comfy Real Estate Balwyn hasn’t disclosed a price for the house, but based on its sale history, any prospective buyers will have to be reasonably “effluent”.
According to CoreLogic RP Data, the home last sold for $1.305 million in August 2014, and for $1.23 million the time before that in March 2011.
