Former Miss Universe Oliva Rogers earned a huge $100,000 premium at the auction for her and ex-husband Justin McKeone’s Glen Iris townhouse, following their recent high-profile split.
The pair shared the 3/1502 High St home for two years up until the shock announcement of their separation at the start of October.
Two strong bidders competed for the keys in front of a crowd of more than 50 people, before it sold under the hammer for $1.25m — a whopping $100,000 above their $1.15m reserve.

Jack Watts’ Edithvale property development power play
A $1.05m vendor bid kicked off the auction, which McGrath St Kilda principal Josh Stirling said “took a little while to get going (before) two bidders went straight at it”.
“It was bought by a downsizer coming back to town from Point Lonsdale, with older children, one at uni and one at school,” Mr Stirling said.
“She came back four times (to inspect) … the renovation Olivia and Justin did really connected with her and her children.”
CoreLogic records show Ms Rogers and Mr McKeone purchased the three-bedroom pad for $985,000 in 2020, before an extensive renovation saw it transformed into a stylish, inner-city abode.
“They’re both very happy (with the result),” Mr Stirling said of the ex-couple.
“Obviously it’s a challenging time but getting above expectations in those situations helps them both out, it’s a massive weight off their shoulders.”
The property was initially listed with a $1.1m-$1.2m price guide.
EX-AFL STAR SELLING UP
Former Demons and Power AFL player Jack Watts is offloading one of his new Edithvale properties, which passed in at its Saturday auction on a $1.35m offer.
The ex-Port Adelaide star built the two mirror-image townhouses at 31A and 31B Ivan Ave in 2019, before renting them both out and later moving into the No. 31A pad, which is still for sale.
The four-bedroom home had a $1.35m-$1.485m price guide ahead of its auction, and Watts plans to move into his currently tenant-occupied house next door once it sells.
“They’re new builds so I can’t really see much value adding to them anymore, so hopefully will sell this and try and do the same again,” he said.
“A mate of mine is a builder and project manager so we’re looking down in Frankston at the moment to do a little development.”
Hodges Sandringham director Angus Graham said there were a couple of interested parties who weren't able to attend the auction, and he was hoping it would sell in the 24 to 48 hours afterwards.
“We had a later offer of $1.4m and the reserve price is $1.45m,” Mr Graham said.
12 MARK ST, FITZROY NORTH
A six-bedroom Victorian era home in Fitzroy North soared above expectations at its Saturday morning auction.
The 12 Mark St pad was initially listed with a $3.3m-$3.6m price guide, with three active bidders competing on the day,
A strong opening bid of $3.32m kicked off the auction, before offers were placed in $20,000 rises until reaching $3.6m — just after the property was called on the market.
“It was a really good, competitive auction,” Nelson Alexander Fitzroy agent David Sanguinedo said.
“Big homes like this are very rare to come up, especially in the Edinburgh precinct of Fitzroy North, so it was really good to see that segment of the market holding up really well.”
A young professional athlete won the keys for $3.69m, who Mr Sanguinedo said loved the Fitzroy North area and was planning to move into the home.
He added that the vendors had been there for more than 30 years, having raised their family at the property, and were “very emotionally attached” to it.
“Their kids have all outgrown it so now they’re moving onto the next chapter,” Mr Sanguinedo said.
“They were very happy (with the result).”
7 STRANKS AVE, BRUNSWICK WEST
Meanwhile in Brunswick West, a renovated three-bedroom period home soared $55,000 above expectations at a competitive Saturday morning auction.
Four active bidders vied for the keys, mostly comprising young professionals, with offers kicking off at $1m.
It wasn’t long until the property was called on the market at $1.1m, before selling under the hammer for $1.155m.
Ray White Brunswick auctioneer Alex Ilyin said the purchaser loved that the home was a low maintenance, turnkey property.
“We’re finding a lot in the market at the moment that those ready-to-move-in homes are performing really well,” Mr Ilyin said.
A buyer from Sydney also registered to bid late last night, but ultimately missed out on the home.
1/26 BRINGA AVE, CAMBERWELL
A stylish three-bedroom villa unit in Camberwell flew $275,000 above its vendors expectations at a fierce auction where four bidders competed.
The 1/26 Bringa Ave pad was initially listed for an $850,000-$935,000 sale, with an opening bid of $850,000 kicking off the auction.
More than 70 spectators gathered on Saturday morning to watch, before the property was called on the market at $925,000.
At this point two strong bidders pushed offers above $1m, before the home sold under the hammer for $1.2m.
Wakelin Property Advisory director Jarrod McCabe said that the buyers were a mix of owner occupiers, and he believed the successful purchaser was looking to downsize.
“It was slow to start but then it went pretty quickly once it was on the market,” Mr McCabe said.
“It’s a tree-lined street with lots of large family homes, in a great spot near middle Camberwell shops and close to train stations and cafes.”
EARLIER IN THE WEEK
A two-bedroom Edwardian-style home in Thornbury scored a huge result under the hammer after a top offer brought the auction forward, initially scheduled for Saturday.
The Thursday night board room auction for 26 Plow St attracted four competitive bidders, including one who placed the $1.16m offer that put the property on the market and kicked things off.
Jellis Craig Reservoir partner and auctioneer Anthony Lapadula said the buyers were all young professionals, who competed for the keys before it sold for $1.265m.
He added that the successful purchaser loved the home’s period features and prime Thornbury location.
“It’s in a location that’s really sought after,” Mr Lapadula said.
“It’s just 200m off the bustling High St where all the cafes, restaurants and shops are.”
The vendors were now downsizing after being at the home for about 30 years.
9 FINDON ST, MALVERN EAST
Another Edwardian home also notched a top result during the week at 9 Findon St in Malvern East.
Three buyers fought for the three-bedroom pad on Thursday evening, with offers opening with a strong $2.1m bid above the vendors’ reserve, which placed the property on the market.
Jellis Craig Stonnington agent Will Bennison had the listing, who said that the vendors were now upsizing, while the successful buyers were a young couple looking to downsize.
“It was a good, competitive auction,” Mr Bennison said.
The home sold under the hammer for $2.25m.
