Gold Coast housing prices skyrocket

A developer whose licence was briefly suspended earlier this month has unveiled plans for another tower in the heart of Palm Beach.

The Jefferson Ave project, Palm Shores, is earmarked for an 824sq m site and has been put forward by developer 5Point Projects which bought the land for $15.6m in May.

The nine-story tower, designed by Plus Architecture, will feature 16 units, topped with two penthouses.

There will be two three-bedroom on the lower six levels, followed the pair of two-level “beach houses” and the pair of two-storey penthouses.

5Point director Damian Dove said the development application for the project was lodged this week.

“Palm Beach is among the most desirable beachfront suburbs on the Gold Coast and Palm Shores affirms our commitment to delivering the ultimate in coastal living for discerning buyers,” he said.

“Our aim is to keep it boutique, private and exclusive while capturing the very essence of the laid-back lifestyle of Palm Beach.

“The proposal we have put forward for this magnificent site is code assessable which assures buyers that we can bring this development to the market as soon as possible.”

The site of the proposed tower is currently home to a pair of two-level houses which will be demolished to make way for the project.

It will be the latest in a series of Palm Beach projects built by the developer, including the under-construction Ophira

It comes just weeks after the Broadbeach-based developer’s licence was suspended by the QBCC in early July.

Mr Dove said at the time “a temporary 24-hour suspension” had been imposed by the QBCC over “administrative queries” during a “routine” audit.

“After providing further information the suspension has been lifted,” he said.

“It’s business as usual across all projects.”
