DEMOCRATS are jubilant, having won the necessary seats to control the House after the US Midterms, but President Donald Trump is taking some late-night bows for himself.

SENIOR Democrat Nancy Pelosi has addressed party supporters in Washington DC, declaring that the party had won control of the lower house of Congress.
Despite some early dismay that the so-called "blue wave" of support was not bigger, the Democrats will form a majority in the House of Representatives, frustrating Donald Trump's agenda.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has indulged in a bit of self-promotion on Twitter, re-tweeting an election analyst who described him as a "magic man" and an "astonishing vote-getter" who "pulls out these amazing wins".
