US Election Live Blog: Donald Trump slams ‘warped’ Kamala Harris’ as gloves come off
The gloves came off as Donald Trump slammed Kamala Harris' Hitler slur, and the ex of Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff broke her silence over shocking domestic violence claims.
The gloves are off with just 11 days until polls open in the US presidential election.
Literally Hitler: Donald Trump slammed “warped” Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate steered into the “Hitler” slur to call the former president an outright “fascist” during a CNN town hall.
The vice president’s widely panned performance appears to have done more harm than good as the negative reviews overshadowed a series of aspirational "October surprise" stories that landed with a thud: Trump praised Hitler. Trump called troops suckers. Trump groped a model three decades ago.
Mr Trump shrugged them off and the day’s election cycle moved on to the growing panic among Democratic Party circles at the fallout from Ms Harris' town hall.
October Surprise: Imagine if Donald Trump was embroiled in a domestic violence scandal. The woman who accuses Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff of slapping her in the face, so hard she spun around, has broken her silence. But it has so far gained as much traction against Ms Harris today as Hitler did against Mr Trump yesterday.

Born in the USA: In case there was any doubt that Ms Harris was struggling with the black vote, her prime time event today (10am AEST) is less of a campaign rally and more of a concert.
The headliners include former president-turned “Looser Yourself” rapper Barack Obama, actor Samuel L Jackson, director Spike Lee, and Meghan Markle’s bestie Tyler Perry. And Bruce Springsteen, who is white, but is also The Boss.
But tomorrow is the big one, with Queen Bey reportedly lending her pipes to the campaign. Beyonce's hit "Freedom" was used as the Harris campaign's launch anthem. Her return coincides with Harris' pivot away from Trump=Hitler back to the only mud that seems to stick to the former president: Abortion freedom.
