Melania Trump exchanges letters with King Charles, new memoir reveals

Her husband may have had world leaders on speed dial, but former First Lady Melania Trump has connections of her own revealing she is pen pals with a senior British royal.

Melania Trump is pen pals with none other than King Charles her new memoir reveals, offering a charming insight into the relationship between the unlikely pair.

In her upcoming memoir, Mrs Trump details how after first meeting the then Prince Charles in New York in 2005, they forged a friendship during a state visit to the UK when her husband was still president in 2019.

“The evening’s state banquet was a formal and elegant affair. I was seated next to Prince Charles, and it was an absolute pleasure to reconnect with him,” Mrs Trump wrote.

“Our paths had crossed many years ago in New York City. This time we engaged in an interesting conversation about his deep-rooted commitment to environmental conservation.”

Mrs Trump also shared a heartwarming anecdote about how she “truly connected” with the late Queen Elizabeth who she says treated her with the “utmost hospitality” during the visit.

To Mrs Trump’s delight, the late queen gift her a silver box adorned with the ceiling motifs from Buckingham Palace’s music room.

FIRST LADY IS AN ELECTION DENIER

Elsewhere in her memoir, Mrs Trump states she agreed with her husband the 2020 election was stolen from him.

“The media, Big Tech, and the deep state were all determined to prevent Donald’s election, by any means necessary,” Mrs Trump wrote, adding there was “suspicious voting activity being reported all over the country.”

“Many Americans still have doubts to this day,” Mrs Trump wrote.

“I am not the only one who questions the results.”

MELANIA’S FORAY INTO THE SITUATION ROOM

The former First Lady also made the astonishing revelation her husband invited her into the White House situation room to watch a live feed of a Delta Force raid to take out Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

“Watch this incredible action at work,” Mr Trump whispered to her.

Mrs Trump said she left before the terrorist met his gory end, detonating his suicide vest after being cornered.

BARRON IS NOT AUTISTIC

The former First Lady also included a heartbreaking insight into how her son Barron was bullied when at the age of 10, TV personality Rosie O’Donnell shared a clip of the youngster claiming it proved he was autistic which went viral.

“Barron’s experience of being bullied both online and in real life following the incident is a clear indication of the irreparable damage caused,” Mrs trump said.

“There is nothing shameful about autism (though O’Donnell’s tweet implied that there was), but Barron is not autistic.

“I was appalled by such cruelty.

“It was clear to me that she was not interested in raising awareness about autism. I felt that she was attacking my son because she didn’t like my husband.”

Meanwhile, the former First Lady has also revealed Trump knew she supported abortion rights since the day of their first meeting.

In an interview with Fox News, Mrs Trump revealed more about her stance on the issue after opening up about her views in her newly released memoir.

“He knew my position since the day we met, and I believe in individual freedom. I want to decide what I want to do with my body. I don’t want government in my personal business,” she told Fox News.

“I think it’s very important and, as I said in the book, and it’s very well explained in the chapter, ‘What does my body, my choice mean?’ because timing really matters and also the restrictions, so I encourage people to read it because we live in a world that everybody should have individual freedom,” she said.

TRUMP KNEW ABOUT MELANIA’S ABORTION STANCE

In the newly published book Melania, which was released on Tuesday, Mrs Trump doubled down on her stance on abortion, moving further apart from her husband on the issue.

The book also goes into Mrs Trump’s infamous “I really don’t care, do u?’ jacket, which she wore during a tour of a migrant detention centre at the US-Mexico border in 2018.

While Donald Trump has touted his role in the overturning of Roe v Wade, the former first lady said via a social media post last week spruiking her memoir that women’s “individual freedom is a fundamental right that I safeguard”.

“Without a doubt there is no room for compromise when it comes to this essential right that all women possess from birth. Individual freedom,” Mrs Trump said.

MELANIA CALLS FOR ABORTION TO REMAIN LEGAL

Mrs Trump’s book goes into detail about her belief in the need for access to abortion to remain legal.

“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body?” Mrs Trump wrote.

“A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.”

Mrs Trump disclosed last week her long-held support for the right to abortion a month before an election in which her husband’s pro-life stance looms as a decisive issue.

Mr Trump, who has flip-flopped on the contentious matter throughout his life, now boasts of helping to overturn the federal right to abortion which enabled several US states to implement sweeping bans.

In her memoir, the Republican candidate’s wife said it was “imperative to guarantee that women have autonomy in deciding their preference of having children, based on their own convictions, free from any intervention or pressure from the government”.

“A woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty, to her own life, grants her the authority to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes,” Mrs Trump wrote.

“Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life.”

Vice President Kamala Harris has been campaigning to restore the abortion protections that were lost when the Supreme Court – with a conservative majority installed by Mr Trump – overturned the historic Roe v Wade decision two years ago.

The Democratic candidate has accused Mr Trump of wanting to implement a federal ban on abortion. Last week, after repeatedly dodging the issue, he said he would veto such a measure if it was passed by Congress and would leave abortion rules up to the states.

Mrs Trump has steered clear of supporting her husband on the campaign trail in his bid to return to the White House.
