Footage from a resurfaced 2002 interview has shown Sean “Diddy” Combs joking about “locking women up” at his parties.
The 54-year-old music mogul, who was arrested earlier this week in New York amid a sex trafficking probe, is currently being held at a Brooklyn jail.
The one-time rapper – who was twice denied bail by a judge – was said to be placed on suicide watch following his indictment for sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Now, new footage has been unearthed of Combs appearing on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 2002 where he made comments about having “locks on the doors” to stop female guests from leaving his parties.
While giving tips on how to put on a “killer party”, Combs said, “This is what you need to do. Women. Beautiful women, of course. Beautiful men for the ladies, of course.”
To an increasingly uncomfortable O’Brien, Combs gave the talk show host a list of what made a “killer party” including “alcohols” and “some water”.
When O’Brien queried why water was on the list, Combs said, “I don’t know if guys have noticed this, like, a lot of ladies drink water at parties. They just, you know, so if you don’t have what they need, they’re gonna leave.”
“Gotta keep them there,” he said. “You need locks on the doors.”
An increasingly uncomfortable O’Brien said: “OK, this is sounding kind of dangerous now.”
“It’s a little kinky,” Combs said before reciting more of his “tips”.
“You need a lot of heat. Don’t have no airconditioning. Heat affects the alcohol and you know, everybody also gets a little more comfortable and loose and builds up a nice little sweat.”
O’Brien wasn’t impressed, “That just sounds disgusting,” he said.
Combs added, “You need good music and you need me, of course.”
Towards the end of the interview, O’Brien asked about any celebrities that have “crashed” one of Combs’ parties.
Combs then recalled a 2002 birthday bash that was held at the exclusive Cipriani restaurant in New York, and listed a few stars that had turned up such as NBA legend Magic Johnson, supermodel Naomi Campbell and Martha Stewart.
He also said that Henry Winkler – “Fonzie” from Happy Days – had also attended.
DIDDY ‘NOT SUICIDAL’
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyer has vowed the I’ll Be Missing You hit maker will be fighting his sex crime charges claiming his client is “not at all suicidal”.
Lawyer Marc Agnifilo made the comments in a statement to TMZ after reports Combs was on suicide watch as he awaits his trial on racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
Mr Agnifilo told TMZ placing “new, high-profile inmates” on suicide watch was a standard procedure and not at all indicative of Combs’ mental state.
The defence lawyer added the rapper was “strong, healthy, confident and focused on his defence.”
It comes as a resurfaced 2018 video of an interview between a male porn star and police airs more bizarre allegations about the 54-year-old rapper.
Jonathan Oddi remains in custody since he was arrested at Donald Trump’s National Doral Golf Club in Miami in 2018 where he allegedly engaged in a gunfight with police officers, shooting one in the leg, after he stormed the course with an American flag and a firearm.
“He doesn’t like Obama. He doesn’t like Trump. And, apparently, he doesn’t like P. Diddy,” a police source told the Miami Herald of Oddi.
In the police video interview, obtained by the Law and Crime Network, Oddi can be heard telling officers he had engaged in sexual relations with Combs and a former flame.
“I was like a sex slave, okay. For them, that’s what I was,” Oddi said.

DIDDY’S LATE GIRLFRIEND EXPOSES VIOLENCE, ORGIES
It comes after Combs’ late ex-partner accused the singer of assaulting her, taping himself having sex with a male teenage pop star and sex parties with an Oscar winner and his wife.
The 60-page book Kim’s Lost Words claims to be a collection of diaries belonging to Kim Porter, the mother of three of his children who passed away from pneumonia in 2018. According to the book, these writings were leaked by her friends.
It chronicles Combs’s love life from the 1990s up to Porter’s final year, detailing alleged affairs with prominent male and female musicians and rappers, as well as wild orgies at his home, where Porter was also involved.
The book was released on September 6, just days before the rapper and Bad Boy Records founder was indicted by federal prosecutors in New York on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
The brief memoir includes disturbing allegations of Diddy slapping Porter in moments of anger and even making death threats against her.
In the book, Porter recounts discovering and making copies of tapes Diddy made of himself having sex with “young boys” he was managing, including an alleged tape involving an 18-year-old pop star who went on to be a household name.
The memoir’s final entry details Porter falling gravely ill, dramatically texting her friends, “He got me,” before calling 911.
The book’s Los Angeles-based publisher, producer Chris Todd, claims that Porter shared a thumb drive of her writing with close friends which he obtained and lightly edited into a book under the pseudonym Jamal T Millwood.
The book was marked as being printed in Las Vegas on September 7, 2024.
“I was lucky enough to meet someone that purported to have Kim Porter’s flash drive,” Mr Todd told DailyMail.
“I know the celebrity source pretty well. I know how close they were to Kim and Diddy, and all the people in the hip hop community.
“This was supposedly for Kim Porter from the grave, to come forward and tell her story.’
One part of the book described another alleged incident at Porter’s apartment.
“He fiercely slammed me to the ground. Then he pulled out a .22 [handgun] and sat it on the end table,’ the memoir claimed.
“He knelt on one knee, and got right in my face to say, “You’re mine. You don’t have a choice in that now. I can’t live without you”.
“He’s a terrifying monster.”
Porter allegedly wrote that she discovered videotapes of Diddy’s sexual encounters in his bedroom “vault,” and made copies of them as protection for herself, as part of her plan to leave him.
Porter died on November 15, 2018, of lobar pneumonia after several days of “flu-like symptoms”.
DIDDY’S ‘FAMOUS FRIENDS’ COULD BE DRAGGED INTO SCANDAL
Diddy’s famous friends are distancing themselves from Combs as he awaits trial.
Diddy has been a central figure in Hollywood for decades and his inner circle has included megastars such as Jay-Z and Beyonce, Usher, and Justin Bieber.
Diddy’s lavish 50th birthday, held at a Beverly Hills mansion in 2019, also saw Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, Leonardo DiCaprio, Pharrell, and Snoop Dogg at the party.
According to former US prosecutor Neama Rahmani, Diddy’s famous friends could be impacted by any upcoming trial.
“[His friends] can be subpoenaed, but they will almost certainly assert their Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination and refuse to testify,” he told The Sun.
“People who participated in the sex acts should especially be afraid because they can also be charged with sex trafficking or prostitution, depending on whether they used threats or force against the victims.”
Diddy has a string of high profile friends who have remained silent since the star’s arrest, including longtime friend, Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) who is married to Beyonce.
They have been close friends for decades with their relationship dating back to the early 1990s.
Diddy’s abuse allegations first came to light almost a year ago when his ex-girlfriend, R & B singer Cassie Ventura, sued him for rape and physical abuse.
She eventually settled with the rapper, but shortly after CNN obtained exclusive surveillance footage of him allegedly physically assaulting her in a Los Angeles hotel hallway.
“The video of him beating Cassie was so disturbing that he’s already lost the PR battle and he’s probably the most toxic person in America right now,” Mr Rahmani told The Sun.
“I am surprised it took prosecutors six months to charge him after his Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided.
Prosecutors alleged Diddy threw wild parties he labelled “freak offs” where he would fly in escorts for days of X-rated sessions.
They claim once sex workers were at the parties they would be coerced through money and intimidation into performing nonconsensual acts.
Diddy also allegedly recorded the sessions while he masturbated.
Following hedonistic days of drug use and drinking, participants were often mailed IV bags to help recover from the chaos, the indictment claims.
The charges allege Diddy “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to fulfil his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct”.
US District Judge Andrew L. Carter denied bail on Wednesday local time after both the prosecution and defence presented their cases, stating it was proved “by clear and convincing evidence” that bail – regardless of the amount – couldn’t guarantee Diddy wouldn’t tamper with witnesses.
The minimum sentence if convicted is at least 15 years.
