Princess Kate is bringing a hard edge to the Royals’ battle with Prince Harry and Megan and the push back against the Sussexes’ constant media blabbing, it’s claimed.

Princess Kate is ‘playing the long game’ in the Royals’ battle with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, bringing a hard edge to push back against the Sussexes’ constant media blabbing.

That’s according to a new report, which claims Kate was the key Royal pushing for the now iconic ‘recollections may vary’ line to be included in The Firm’s official response to Harry and Kate’s controversial ‘tell-all’ Oprah Winfrey interview.

According to The Sun, Princess Kate wanted a ‘tough response’ to the Oprah interview, given by the wantaway Royals after their move to California.

The interview and its supposed ‘truth bombs’ - many of which has since been debunked - made headlines worldwide.

The theatrical interview rocked the Royals, sparking an intense debate at Buckingham Palace over how to respond.

And it was Princess Kate who wanted a hard-line response, for fear that otherwise the Sussexes claims would be taken as truth.

In The Firm drafting their response, one insider alleged it was Kate who put pressure on staff to include the famous “recollections may vary” line.

The initial statement written by Palace officials is understood to have been “much milder” - focusing on Harry and Meghan being “much loved members of the family”.

But Kate felt “history will judge this statement” and wanted the Firm to take a stronger stance.

A source told The Times: “It had a much milder version. The debate was, do you rise entirely above it and offer the olive branch of [Harry and Meghan being] ‘much loved members of the family’? Or is there some moment when you have to intervene and offer a view?”

According to the report, Prince William wanted the statement “toughened up” and Kate backed him up on that.

Kate was insistent the iconic line be included, otherwise “everything that they have said will be taken as true”.

According to a Palace insider Princess Kate is “steelier” than she appears.

“She does not get as much credit as she should, because she is so subtle about it,” they claimed

“She is playing the long game. She has always got her eye on, ‘This is my life and my historic path and I am going to be the Queen one day.’”

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

The final draft was approved by the late Queen at Buckingham Palace within a few hours.

Her Majesty released the statement two days after the couple’s explosive interview and said the Royal Family took the allegations “very seriously”.

Her unprecedented response came after the tell-all Oprah chat that saw Meghan break down in tears as she and Harry revealed the pressures they faced within the Firm.

A statement from the palace said: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

‘ROYALS WILL BE ASHAMED’: MEGHAN’S BIOGRAPHER THREATENS CORONATION BOMBSHELL

A new book into the state of the monarchy will leave the royal family “ashamed” after its publication was delayed to include new details from the coronation of King Charles’, according to author Omid Scobie.

Scobie, who wrote the Sussex’s biography Finding Freedom, announced that his follow-up would be delayed by three months to include Prince Harry’s return to London to see his father crowned.

Describing it as a “penetrating investigation” into the state of the royal family, Scobie said the new book, Endgame, was pushed back from its original date in August to November, and includes things “they should be ashamed of”.

“As well as speaking with those involved in some of the most defining and controversial royal moments in recent years, the book also brings new details on unsolved mysteries,” Scobie wrote in an op-ed a day after announcing the delay.

The biggest unsolved mystery in the family feud is who in the royal family Prince Harry and Meghan Markle accused of being racist in their infamous 2021 interview on Oprah.

With Prince Harry’s Spare the last genuine hit in the Sussex’s rapidly-crumbling Hollywood empire, royals reportedly fear Ms Markle could name the family’s alleged “racist” in an attempt to maintain interest in the royal drama.

A friend of Prince William said the heir has brushed off the potential bombshells in the upcoming Scobie book, revealing he hadn’t read the first Sussex biography or, for that matter, his brother’s memoir Spare or watched the Netflix series, Harry & Meghan.

“The idea that William is going to be distracted from his work by even thinking about Omid Scobie’s new book is fanciful,” the friend told The Daily Beast.
