Greta Thunberg and other activists ordered to watch harrowing video
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered the detained activists be shown a harrowing video compilation of the October 7 massacre.
An aid boat headed for Gaza carrying 12 activists including Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg came “under assault” by Israeli forces just after 11am AEST.
Commandos intercepted the Freedom Flotilla Coalition’s ship Madleen, after the navy ordered the boat to change its course away from Israeli waters, activists on board the boat said.
“Quadcopters are surrounding the ship, spraying it with a white paint-like substance,” the crew on board the Madleen said in a post on Instagram before all communication was lost. “Communications are jammed and disturbing sounds are being played over the radio,” they added.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry said all of the crew were safe and the boat was being towed to Israeli shores.
“The passengers are expected to return to their home countries,” the ministry wrote on social media.
