The US teen acquitted of killing two people at a Black Lives Matter protest has revealed new details about the violent clash and claims he was denied a shower for so long in jail his skin peeled off.

Kyle Rittenhouse, 18, has given his first interview since a jury last week found him not guilty of murder, attempted murder and reckless endangerment in the deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and the wounding of Gaige Grosskreutz, 27.

The incident happened during violent protests over the shooting of a black man, Jacob Blake, by a white police officer.

Rittenhouse told Fox News host Tucker Carlson he had been defending a car dealership and alleged Rosenbaum approached him and told him “I’m gonna f***ing kill you, I’m going to cut your heart out”.

“When he threatened to kill me, I was like, ‘What the heck just happened?’ That’s not something you say to somebody.”

Rittenhouse said Rosenbaum “tried to grab” his rifle when he fired a fatal shot.

“After I shoot him, I was going to render first aid. I wasn’t able to. There was a mob forming calling for my execution.

He said Huber hit him with a skateboard when he fired again.

“I end up on the ground. I have four people around me. Anthony Huber comes up and grabs the barrel of my gun, hits me with his skateboard. That’s when I shoot him one time.’

He said he thought “I was going to get killed”.

Rittenhouse said Grosskreutz pointed a gun “directly at my head and that’s when I shoot him one time”.

Rittenhouse said he had no running water in his jail cell and blood flowed from his body when he showered after his release.

“I had like blood. My skin was bleeding because my skin was coming off of my body and it’s just the nastiest thing ever,” he said.

He insisted his case was hijacked by “the left” and wrongly made about politics and race.

Rittenhouse accused Joe Biden of “malice” and “defaming my character” after the US President accused him of being a white supremacist after deadly racial violence in Wisconsin.

Rittenhouse wanted to Mr Biden to “go back and watch the trial - understand the facts before you make a statement”.

“It’s actual malice, defaming my character for him to say something like that,” Rittenhouse

said.

Carlson put it to him the sentiment was shared by many around the world.

“It’s actually quite hysterical...when you can go back and look at the facts of the case. He crossed the state lines, false. He’s a white supremacist, false. None of that is true. And the lies that they can just get away with spreading is just sickening. It is a disgrace to this to this country,” he said.

Rittenhouse told Carlson his case was hijacked to become political and about race - which he claims is not true.

“This wasn’t a political case. It shouldn’t have been a political case. It was made a political case said nothing do with race. The ways people are twisting this is just sick,” he said.

He was 17 when he brought a semiautomatic rifle and a medical kit to Kenosha in what he said was an effort to protect businesses as riots broke over the police shooting Mr Blake, a who was left paralysed from the waist down.

Rittenhouse said he was in Kenosha to “help protect properties”.

He said he was shocked at the violence and graffiti and thought the situation was spiralling out of control.

“The [police] have a hard job, for sure. But I don’t really think they got the support they needed. The National Guard should have been called,” he said.

“I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement. I support peacefully demonstrating. I believe there needs to be change,” Rittenhouse said.

“I believe there’s a lot of prosecutorial misconduct, not just in my case but in other cases. It’s just amazing to see how much a prosecutor can take advantage of someone.”
