Kidman was nominated for an Academy Award nomination for her role as Lucille Ball in Being the Ricardos.

She said was having breakfast in Nashville with her husband, Keith Urban, and their two daughters Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, 13, and Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, 11, when she got the surprise FaceTime call.

Urban congratulated Kidman after the nomination was announced, saying the family was “SO proud” of all that she poured into the role.

“We REALLY lived through it with you on this one, & you gave it EVERYTHING,” he said.

“They’re always a part of every decision, because obviously the family has to come and support, I’m asking for them tl let me go and do it and take time away from them,” she said.

Kidman last won the Oscar for The Hours in 2002, and said she prepared for her Oscar-nominated role as Lucille Ball and Lucy with her toughest audience.

“When I was preparing, they were my audience, so I’d sit them on the couch and they’d do it, and they’d be saying, ‘ah, you’ve got a lot more work to do’,” she said.
