It come as confusion reigns over Markle’s highly anticipated interview with US chat show host Jimmy Fallon.

However, in a bizarre turn of events hours later, Markle’s ally Omid Scobie tweeted that there had been an error and that the Duchess would not be appearing on Fallon’s program.

The royal reporter tweeted: “Looks like someone at NBC didn’t get the memo. Despite an announcement via their various PR channels, Meghan isn’t scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show.”

Critics of Markle were quick to jump on Scobie’s tweet.

“That’s very odd indeed,” one posted. “Major miscommunication. Is that like those announcements where Meghan and Harry broadcast their upcoming attendance at an event in the hope of being invited? Like the balcony at Buckingham Palace? Or the Oscars?”

It comes after Markle and Prince Harry shared a personal message related to Princess Diana with Sir Elton John ahead of his farewell concert at the Dodgers Stadium.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were featured in a video, which appeared to be filmed at the couple’s Archewell offices, showing stars paying tribute to the music superstar ahead of the gig.

It was outranked by a soothing sounds podcast to help parents put their babies to bed.

EX-THATCHER AIDE CALLS FOR TITLES TO BE STRIPPED

A former aide to Margaret Thatcher has called for King Charles to remove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal titles “swiftly and decisively”.

Nile Gardiner, a foreign policy analyst and author, also claimed that giving the Sussexes the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award was an “insult” to the monarchy.

Mr Gardiner described the award as “a disgraceful attack” on the royal family.

John F. Kennedy’s niece, Kerry Kennedy, who will host the awards, said the Sussexes took a brave stance against the royals.

Ms Kennedy said: “They went to the oldest institution in UK history and told them what they were doing wrong, that they couldn’t have structural racism within the institution; that they could not maintain a misunderstanding about mental health.

“Few would have the courage to question their colleagues, family and community about the power structure they maintained, and this is what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have done.”
