A woman who went missing after allegedly falling off rocks and Into water has been found safe and well after a three-day search.
On Friday, Queensland Police revealed a search operation that began on Tuesday night had located a woman who was reportedly swept off the rocks and into the water near Elephant Rock in Currumbin.
At about 9.30pm on Tuesday, a man raised the alarm with other people in the area who then alerted police, but he was not present when they arrived on the scene.
It is believed the woman was fishing when the incident occurred.
Initial searches were hampered due to rough sea conditions and resumed first thing on Wednesday morning, but police did not receive any missing persons reports for the woman overnight.
After a large-scale land, air and sea search, involving water police, shore line searches, divers, Polair and jet skis, the woman was found “safe and well” at about 11am on Friday.
However, a police spokesperson told NCA NewsWire that she was not found in the water.
Investigations to find the man continue.
