The heartbroken wife of a young North Queensland dad who lost his life in a devastating Bruce Highway crash has made an emotional appeal to find the strangers who rushed to his side in the aftermath of the horrific accident.

Jordan Brown, 27, a beloved father-of-two from Giru, tragically died after a collision between a car and a truck at Alligator Creek, just after 6am on Friday, April 4.

Mr Brown suffered critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 57-year-old Bundaberg man, was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.

In the wake of the tragedy, Jordan’s wife, Chloe Brown, took to Facebook on Saturday in a heartfelt attempt to locate those who were with her husband immediately after the crash — in particular, a woman who stayed with him, and two young men who also rushed in to help.

“I am searching for her, I would like to thank her,” she wrote.

The post was met with an outpouring of support from the community, with many offering condolences.

One commenter said they knew the woman — believed to be a doctor — and had passed on the message to her.

Ms Brown said she had been “overwhelmed” by the kindness and support shown to her and her family.

“From money to meals to hugs and love or just words of kindness,” she wrote.

A GoFundMe campaign has since been launched to support the grieving family, with more than $33,000 raised so far.

Mr Brown has been remembered as a “devoted husband, father and friend who brought joy, kindness and warmth to everyone he met.”
