A second woman has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found in the passenger seat of a burnt-out car in Western Australia.
Emergency services were called to a vehicle fire on Ricks Rd at Springs, north of Boddington, just after noon on December 6.
When they arrived, they found the body of a 53-year-old man in the front passenger seat of a silver Holden Commodore.
The WA Police Force said in a statement at the time that they believed the Boddington man had been in the company of one or more people in the time leading up to the car fire.
His death was treated as suspicious and homicide detectives launched a weeks-long investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a 45-year-old woman.
She was charged on December 28 with murder, attempt unlawfully to kill, and stealing a motor vehicle.
Five days later, WA Police confirmed they have now arrested a second woman over the man’s death.
The 36-year-old woman faced court on Wednesday after being charged with murder, attempt unlawfully to kill, and stealing a motor vehicle.
She is next due to appear before the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on January 22.
