An investigation has been launched after a toddler died in a major car crash, with five adults also injured in the rollover.

An investigation has been launched after a car rolled over in De Grey, WA about 10.50pm on Wednesday.

A maroon Holden Captiva was along an access road near the Great Northern Freeway when the fatal rollover happened.

A three-year-old girl suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

Three women and two men suffered minor injuries from the crash as officers investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
