From hip hop, jazz and ballet to cheerleading and burlesque academies, Tasmanians are getting down on the dancefloor at some influential studios across the state.

When the Mercury put out the call to find Tassie’s Best Dance Studio we were inundated with hundreds of nominations.

Hobart’s Phoenix Danze was nominated dozens of times with keen performers describing the popular studio as ‘inclusive’, ‘professional’ and ‘so much fun’.

The search is on to find Tasmania’s favourite dance studio.

For Sarah-Jayne Taylor, Miss Kitty’s Meow - The Art of Burlesque and Cabaret classes ‘changed her life’ and gave her and other performers opportunities they could only ‘dream of’.

In the North West, Fairy Godmothers All Abilities Dance was also put forward as a top nominee, with Olivia Grace Tabart saying the classes bring inclusion and acceptance to each individual no matter their ability.
