A Victorian Liberal MP has been slammed for a Facebook comment that describes Premier Daniel Andrews in an indecent position with a goat in a public toilet.
A post on Western Metropolitan Region MP Bernie Finn’s official Facebook page was made on Tuesday night following a stoush in state parliament, where Health Minster Jenny Mikakos showed up to the chamber against health advice but refused to answer any questions, and has been slammed by social media and other MPs as “unparliamentary”.
Mr Finn, who was in the chamber on Tuesday was clearly frustrated by Ms Mikakos’ move to refuse to answer all questions on the pandemic and was heard yelling at her across the chamber labelling her “shameless” and calling for her to resign.
Hours later a post appeared on Facebook saying:
“The entirely pathetic Health Minister Jenny Mikakos is a disgrace to the parliament. She refused to answer all questions asked of her today. How the hell does she keep her job? Must have photos of Despot Dan with a small goat in a public toilet (after curfew).”
The remarks have reportedly outraged government MPs as well as some of Mr Finn’s colleagues.
Mr Finn has been contacted for comment.
Members of the public who have seen the comments were not impressed by the comment.
“You’re a disgrace to your party and this state,” one comment said.
“You may disagree with some of the things that are going on right now, however, let’s all be clear, it’s people like you who spread misinformation that have us all in stage 4 now.”
Reason Party Leader Fiona Patten who was in the chamber also during yesterday’s question time said the Facebook post was not acceptable.
“I was disappointed by the health Minister but Bernie Finn is an absolute disgrace,” she said.
“He continues to be unparliamentary in the house sometimes with protection of privilege, but he does not have that on Facebook.”
