The Source: Nick Staikos’ social media stylings not for the faint hearted

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers
Here at The Source, a sturdy constitution is essential when dealing with the daily foibles of some of our elected representatives.
But that disposition was seriously tested while appraising the social media stylings of Bentleigh MP Nick Staikos who is also the Minister for Local Government and Consumer Affairs.
So with those commitments you’d think Mr Staikos would have enough on his plate.
But the honourable member still felt it was his public duty to suggest on Facebook that Cup weekend was the best time to plant tomatoes. The daggy St Kilda bucket hat really made it a special moment for us.
And then he went on to plug his own branded Christmas shopping bags – along with Santa of course. The Source says it’s too soon! Spring racing ain’t even over yet.
And then, draws breath, there’s a video of Staikos boasting how he got money to pay for a new netball court in his electorate. The footage is replete with awkward acting and cringe dialogue. But then things take a turn.
An enormous AI-generated pink netball then barrels towards him forcing him to run for his life. Oh no!
The Source watches this stuff so you don’t have to. You’re welcome.
