Richard St home in Hadfield razed by a suspicious fire just weeks after it was targeted by a man with a machine gun

A home on Richard St in Hadfield has been razed by a suspicious fire just weeks after it was peppered with bullets by a man with a machine gun.

A suburban home which was blasted with gunfire has been razed by a suspicious fire.

The Richard St home in Hadfield was peppered with at least 15 bullets in mid-November before it was set alight on Tuesday.

Fire crews were called to the single-storey brick home just after 3am following reports the vacant property was engulfed in flames.

An FRV spokesperson said the furnished house was temporarily unoccupied but four occupants had to be evacuated from a nearby home.

Around 30 firefighters took over half an hour to bring the blaze under control.

Police have deemed the fire as suspicious but a cause is yet to be determined.

The Herald Sun can confirm that the Richard St home was the same property to be targeted with a machine gun on November 15.

About 15 bullets pierced the home’s front windows just minutes after a Broadmeadows house was targeted with the machine gun.

The homeowners were last month reluctant to speak to the media.

Police and fire crews are investigating Tuesday’s blaze.
