Julian Knight is a mass killer turned vexatious litigant

The failed army cadet, then 19, fired more than 100 rounds, killing seven people and injuring 19 others,

before he was arrested in North Fitzroy.

His victims were Tracey Skinner, 23, Vesna Markovska, 24, Robert Mitchell, 27, Georgina Papaioannou, 21, John Muscat, 26, Dusan Flajnik, 53, and Kenneth Stanton, 21.

After pleading guilty to seven counts of murder and 46 of attempted murder, Knight was sentenced to seven life terms with a minimum of 27 years.

He becomes eligible for parole in May 2014.

Legal claims from jail have cost taxpayers $250,000. He has been declared a vexatious litigant.

Knight has done a university degree in strategic and defence studies.

Last year, Knight unsuccessfully applied for a computer in his Port Phillip Prison cell.
