THE "St Kilda Schoolgirl" who posted lewd photographs of Saints players as revenge has admitted she lied about the pregnancy that sparked the scandal almost a year ago.

The Frankston 17-year-old made the stunning admission during Channel 9 current affairs show 60 Minutes, apologising to the AFL player she claimed impregnated her -- Sam Gilbert.

In May last year, aged 16, the girl told her principal she became pregnant to Gilbert after having sex with two St Kilda players, which led to a media storm.

Asked why she lied , the girl said it was for attention. "I honestly don't know why I said it," she said. "What can I say, I was 16, a stupid, immature little teenager. It was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I don't think I owe anyone an apology other than Sam."

She claimed she had lost twins during a 5 1/2-month pregnancy, one of whom she claimed was stillborn.

A source told the Herald Sun her parents organised a baby shower for her, which was cancelled because she had been drinking alcohol.

Another claim the girl made was that she'd gone to Adelaide to confront Gilbert about her pregnancy after feeling abandoned, but was told to "f--- off" by Saints captain Nick Riewoldt.

After the girl released the nude photos of Saints players in December, the club began suing the teen before it came to an agreement with the girl's lawyers to pay for her accommodation for a "few months".
