Here are some better options for Victoria’s numberplate slogan

IT’S a phrase that will be seen by millions of Victorian drivers every day, so you’d hope it’s inspiring. Is ‘The Education State’ really up to it? Here are our alternatives.

IT’S a phrase that will be seen by millions of Victorian drivers every day, so you’d hope it’s catchy, relevant and inspiring.

But a few confused glances were exchanged yesterday when Labor announced the four words they intend to slap on every newly registered car if they win the state election.

As far as numberplate slogans go, Daniel Andews’ effort with ‘Victoria — The Education State’ is at least on par with past motoring mottos including ‘Victoria — The Place to Be’, ‘Victoria — On the Move’ and the Baillieu/Napthine Government’s ‘Stay Alert Stay Alive’.

They make ‘Victoria — The Garden State’ seem pretty appealing, although many of us could never really figure out where all the gardens were.

So here are six more slogans for consideration. Mr Andrews, you have our number.
