Two teenage girls trashed a property and stole a car during a crime spree in Woree over consecutive weekends, police allege.

The girls, aged 16 and 13, broke into a property on Sondrio St on April 7 and smashed it up, causing “extensive damage” to a door and several walls inside, according to police.

The pair went on to steal a car from a local business just five days later, on April 12.

The 13-year-old is in even hotter water than her alleged partner in crime, with police saying she was also part of a group which went on the rampage in the early hours of April 13.

The group are accused of throwing bricks through the window of a shop on Charlotte Cl before stealing the cash register from inside.

The marauding crew also used a brick to smash the windows of a nearby bottle shop, police say.

Police arrested the two girls, who are both from Woree, after finding them at a unit on Sondrio St in the morning of April 13.

The girls were arrested at a unit in Sondrio Street, in the north of Woree.

Sondrio St was also the scene of a dramatic incident in late March where 21-year-old man Wilson Nathaniel was shot by police after allegedly stealing a patrol car.

Officers from the Cairns Property Crime Unit have charged the 13-year-old girl with three counts of enter dwelling, and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and attempted enter dwelling.

She was remanded in custody having been denied bail, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed.

The 16-year-old was granted bail, and has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling and unlawful use of motor vehicle.

Both girls will appear before Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
