Police will allege a 49-year-old Kirwan man was riding his motorcycle along Stock Route Way at Domain Central when he was flagged down by the two men — not known to him — in a silver Holden Colorado Utility between 11am-12pm on Wednesday.

The two men exited the ute and allegedly assaulted the man, dragging him to the ground, where he was kicked and punched multiple times.

Investigators are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by two other men at Garbutt in Townsville on Wednesday (November 2).

Police will also allege the duo stole both the motorcyclist’s jacket and shirt before returning to their vehicle and fleeing the scene.

The motorcyclist sustained significant facial injuries as a result of the alleged assault.

Rebels OMCG Townsville chapter president Jason Michael Heang, 39, has been charged with one count of robbery with violence in relation to the incident.

His lawyer made an application for his bail in court on Friday which was denied.

He will next face Townsville Magistrates Court on December 19.

Investigators are still searching for the second man involved in the alleged assault.

Northern Major Organised Crime Squad officer-in-charge Detective Senior Sergeant Phil Watts said: “Violence of this nature will not be tolerated in our community.”
