A Hinchinbrook man involved in a horror quad-bike accident has been identified.
Matthew Fodriga, 36, from is battling back after suffering serious head injuries in the accident on Sachs Lane, Victoria Plantation, 5 kilometres east of Ingham just before midday Sunday.
Initial reports suggested he was not wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday but on Monday afternoon was listed as being in a stable condition.
Ingham Police Acting Senior Sergeant Regina Veivers said investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit had been due to attend the accident site on Monday to assess whether an official investigation would be opened.
She said the victim was understood to be riding home to his residence in Foresthome between Ingham and Cordelia when the accident occurred.
Snr Sgt Veivers said blood samples had been taken.
She said there were no direct witnesses to the accident, although residents from Sachs Lane were quickly on the scene after the crash at 11.12pm on Sunday.
