Mount Louisa resident Amela Patterson said she woke up on Thursday to find her white Hyundai i30 had been stolen overnight.

Police said the vehicle was later sighted at a Hermit Park service station during the early hours of Friday morning.

A few hours later, the car was found dumped in the Bohle River with a brick by the accelerator pedal near Sandstone Dr and Golf Links Dr in Kirwan.

Ms Patterson, who only got the car two months ago, said she was frustrated because the extent of the water damage would mean the car would have to be written off.

Police investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this stage.

In a separate incident, a grey 2020 Ford Ranger and personal items, including jewellery, were allegedly stolen from a home on Deschamp St, Gulliver some time after 11pm last Saturday.

The vehicle was finally located, allegedly damaged on Cook St, North Ward, on Thursday night.

An 18-year-old Rasmussen man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing tainted property.

He was due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on November 2.

A 22-year-old Hermit Park woman was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She was due to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on November 4.

It comes after three teenage boys were arrested and charged after police allegedly found them with a stolen black dual cab ute outside a unit in South Townsville on Wednesday.
