More than 10,000 fans gathered at the Townsville Entertainment Centre to get a taste of bull-riding action at the 2024 PBR Monster Energy Tour Grand Finals, on Friday and Saturday night.
History was made on Saturday night, as 19-year-old Boston Leather was not only crowned Rookie of the Year, but also 2024 Australian Champion, taking home over 90K in prize money, with his older brother standing by his side as the runner up.
It was a big night for the Leather brothers, with Macaulie Leather’s stellar rides securing him the event win, and 2024 PBR Australia Champion Runner up, after climbing three places on the National Standings over the two nights.
Celebrating 25 years of bull riding in Townsville, more than 204K of prize money was awarded to event winners, including the bovine athletes who brought the action, with some great buck-offs, including YETI Bull of the year Mr T, from Dittmann’s Bucking Bulls.
