New Voice Scholarships recognise forward thinking and responsive educational leaders whose work has had an impact above and beyond expectations.
Ms Byrnes was nominated for the scholarship by St Patrick’s College principal Amber Hauff and said the announcement was a beautiful acknowledgment of her commitment.
“It is quite exceptional to be recognised for the work I am doing in my role but also for our college nationally and the work we are doing to support our students,” she said.
“I am completely humbled to be receiving it not only for the recognition but for the benefits for both myself and the college.”
As part of the scholarship, Ms Byrnes will attend a postponed award ceremony in Melbourne next year as well as receive a one year ACEL membership and subscription to The Australian Educational Leader journal.
