A popular cocktail bar tucked away on Gregory Street is bringing the summer fun to their new menu with 12 new signature cocktails.
While its current menu has built a cult following, Osk Bar is bringing in a new menu that brings the essence of summer to customers glasses.
The owner of Osk Bar, Richard Norris said he had spent months perfecting the new signature cocktails that would tickle the tastebuds but would also stimulate all the senses.
“We’ve got 12 new cocktails on the new menu … and we’re releasing four of them each week over the next three weekends to help stagger that release,” he said.
“It gives people a chance to adapt to the idea that their favourites might not be here.”
On Friday they released their first lot of four drinks which are sure to please everyone, no matter your pick of poison.
“The Blue Horizons, think of it as similar to a margarita but were switching out some of the tequila for a papa salt gin, and then the salted foam on top which is inspired by the ocean and summer time,” Mr Norris said.
“We’ve got a classic sour which is the Juicy Fruit Hibiscus Sour and essentially a little bit of gin and vodka, juicy fruity flavours and a little bit of hibiscus syrup on top.”
“The Smokey Jose, I was literally lying in bed one night thinking about cocktail flavours and just thought that all these elements would work together and I whipped it up and it worked which is actually kind of rare.
“The Mutiny in Paradise is a classic rum punch kind of drink, it was inspired by pirates and south sea traders and way back in the day
Mr Norris said that his favourite of the four drinks is the Smokey Jose.
“It’s a blend of tequila and mezcal, along with some orgeat, which is an almond syrup and then some Dom Benedictine which is a herbal liquor which is just there in the background but adds a bit of complexity.”
